Dylan O’Brien, best known for his primary roles in the show Teen Wolf and the Maze Runner films, is set to play the lead in James Sweeney’s next project. Titled Twinless, it is touted as a dark-comedy film, written and directed by Sweeney, who is best known for the 2019 rom-com Straight Up. Republic Pictures has bagged the global distribution rights for the movie, whose shoot is currently in progress in Portland, Oregon.
The film revolves around two youngsters who meet at twin bereavement support group gatherings and form a close male bond with each other. It marks the sophomore project for Sweeney as a writer and director after Straight Up, which earned him a Best First Screenplay nomination at the 2021 Independent Spirit Awards. Sweeney also directed the 2019 drama Brooklyn Love Stories.
