Two boys, both aged 15, have been charged with the murder of 16-year-old Darrian Williams, who died after being stabbed in a park in Bristol on Wednesday.
Darrian was attacked in Rawnsley Park in the Easton area of the city.
He ran to Stapleton Road where a driver helped him but he died from his injuries at the scene.
The boys, who cannot be named due to their age, have also each been charged with possessing a knife in a public place.
They are in police custody and will appear at Bristol Youth Court on Monday.
Police said Darrian’s family have been made aware and specialist family liaison officers are offering support.
“Our thoughts tonight are with Darrian’s family following this development,” Neil Meade, the senior investigating officer, said.
“We continue to deploy significant resources into the investigation and we will keep them fully informed as it progresses.”
He added knife crime “destroys lives” and said officers are “committed” to do “everything we can to prevent tragic incidents such as this” and to “educate young people about the consequences of carrying a knife”.
