A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a death in a “close-knit community”.
South Wales Police said it was investigating the death of a 64-year-old man in the Butetown area of Cardiff.
Police were called to an address in Belmont Walk shortly after 9am on Sunday morning.
Officers confirmed a 38-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Senior investigating officer DCI Matt Davies said the incident would “cause shock to the close-knit community of Butetown”.
“I want to assure the public that an early arrest has been made and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident,” he added.
“The support and understanding of the local community are very much appreciated.”
