Badminton: Ong-Teo sole survivors in Germany after challenge ends in mixed doubles – MASHAHER



PETALING JAYA: Men’s doubles shuttlers Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi smashed into the German Open semi-finals in Mulheim on Friday (Mar 1).

Yew Sin-Ee Yi, coached by Rosman Razak, beat Taiwan’s Lu Ching-yao-Yang Po-han 21-19, 21-10 to set up a last four match against China’s He Jiting-Ren Xiangyu.

Malaysia’s challenge in the mixed doubles though came to an end after Tan Kian Meng-Lai Pei Jing and Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai Jemie went down fighting in their respective quarter-final matches.

Kian Meng-Pei Jing lost out 21-13, 13-21, 11-21 to Hong Kong’s Tang Chun Man-Tse Ying Suet while Soon Huat-Shevon narrowly fell 19-21, 26-28 to Indonesia’s Rehan Naufal-Lisa Ayu.
