Meta-owned platforms — Instagram and Facebook — are experiencing widespread outage. Facebook and Instagram users across the globe, including India, seems to be facing the glitch. Several users have posted screenshots about facing problems with these two social media platforms on X, formerly Twitter.
Several users have reported of the outage on the website status tracking website Downdetector as well.
Instagram, Facebook down: Outage details
As per users reports on Downdetector, the outage on Instagram and Facebook started around 7:32pm and peaked at 9:00pm. The down time report indicates that around three and half lakh users reported the issues with Instagram, while approximately 3,53,000 users about problems accessing Facebook.
Problems that users are experiencing
User reports indicate that around 70% of users are facing issues with the Instagram app, while 27% have reported issues with the feed and 10% are facing issues with login. On the other hand, around 75% Facebook users have reported issues while login into their Facebook account and 27% with the app and 10% with the website.
Reason behind the outage
Facebook and Instagram parent Meta hasn’t officially acknowledged the outage as of now.
