SHIMLA: Himachal Pradesh chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Wednesday said that he had never imagined that a few MLAs from Hamirpur district would go against the party and hinder the pace of development in the district for which he was consistently working day and night.
He said that these MLAs have not only deceived the government but also the people of the respective constituencies. Lashing out at the two rebel Congress MLAs of Hamirpur district including Rajinder Rana and Inder Dutt Lakhanpal, he said that both these MLAs were having dinner with them on the night of February 26th and in the morning, they voted against the party in the Rajya Sabha election.
Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said while addressing a public meeting at Pakka Bharo in Hamirpur district. Lashing out on the BJP, he said that they resorted to unconstitutional tactics in a bid to overthrow the Congress government. He said that the people of the State have elected the present government and it will complete its tenure in the service of the people. He said that it was unfortunate on the part of BJP legislators that they never wanted the budget to be passed during the session in the Assembly.
Attacking the 6 disqualified Congress MLAs who had voted for BJP in Rajya Sabha election, he said that people should uproot such corrupt leaders who weaken democracy and sell themselves and appealed to the public to give a befitting reply to such people in the Lok Sabha elections. He said that they have tried their best to topple the government elected by the people along with BJP.
While addressing simultaneous public meetings at Dehra and Nagrota Bagwan of Kangra district on Wednesday after announcing numerous development projects worth 784 crore for both the assembly constituencies, Sukhu mounted attack on the BJP by saying that the BJP’s will never succeed in its modus-operandi to topple the sitting government.
He said that the public will teach a lesson to those who will try to adopt an unconstitutional process of destabilizing the democratically elected government. The people of the state have given a huge mandate to the congress party to form the Government and we will complete five years successfully, he added.
He said that 6 MLAs, who won on the Congress Party symbol, backstabbed the party. He said that these MLAs may have differences or personal opposition to him, but they should not have betrayed the people and the party. It was disgusting that amongst the six MLAs who deserted the party, one of them had earlier been a minister and his father had remained a minister and a party president as well.
