Tory MP Robert Buckland says his party are “proud” of their record on pensions amid backlash.
Speaking out on “direct relief” for workers in Britain, he was brought onto the topic of pensions by GB News Political Editor Christopher Hope.
Asked about there not “being enough” for pensioners and it being “barely mentioned” by Jeremy Hunt as he unveiled his Budget, Buckland delivered an impassioned response.
“We’ve done a huge amount for pensioners”, he said.
“We continue to support them and I think we can be proud of the record that we’ve maintained and we struck to it despite pressure to drop the triple lock.”
