Troy Winbush has been cast in NBC’s “Suits: LA” pilot, the spin-off of the USA Network legal drama “Suits,” which recently experienced a massive resurgence on Netflix.
Winbush has been cast as Kevin, joining previously announced cast members Stephen Amell, Josh McDermitt and Lex Scott Davis.
The description for Winbush’s character reads, “Ted’s (Amell) old friend and ex-partner Kevin is a former FBI agent who is now a private detective.” He will be a recurring character if the pilot is picked up.
The official logline for “Suits: LA” reads, “Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor from New York, has reinvented himself representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles. His firm is at a crisis point, and in order to survive he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career. Ted is surrounded by a stellar group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives. All of this is going on while events from years ago slowly unravel that led Ted to leave behind everything and everyone he loved.”
Winbush has previously appeared as a series regular on the Amazon Prime Video series “The Wilds,” and has also been featured in “The Goldbergs,” “9-1-1,” “Chicago Fire,” “The Neighborhood,” “CSI: Vegas,” “Scandal” and “The Big Bang Theory.” He has appeared in the films “John Q,” “The Replacement” and “National Treasure,” in addition to acting on stage in a myriad of productions.
