A passenger train from Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh to Bhawanipatna in Odisha was derailed near Kothavalasa Junction in Andhra Pradesh on Sunday, railway officials said. No injuries or casualties have been reported.
The engine of the train derailed while switching track from the Kottavalasa station in Vizianagaram district where it had halted. The buffer of the first coach, which was a Second Class Cum Luggage coach (SLR), also got entangled in the incident.
Another engine was connected to the rear side, and the train was cleared for travel.
