Border chief who worked for five Presidents outlines ‘crisis’ on border is worst EVER – MASHAHER

A border chief has hit out at Joe Biden and claimed that the “crisis” at the border is the “worst ever.”

Joe Biden is looking as if he is set for a rematch with Donald Trump for the 2024 election and their stances on immigration and border control could prove key to securing votes.

Trump has promised to carry out the “largest deportation operation” in US history.

When Biden became president, he promised to undo the strict immigration policies of his predecessor and take a more “humane” approach.

This year, the Potus backed a Senate proposal that would have set daily limits on border crossings.

Chris Clem has worked for five US presidents

Speaking to GBN America Retired Border Patrol Chief Chris Clem claimed: “I worked for five US presidential administrations, Clinton, Bush, Obama, Trump, and then Biden.

“Every administration had leaned forward by working towards a more secure and safe border environment, whether that was increasing in personnel, but most importantly infrastructure in the form of of border barriers, whether as we call it a wall or fence.

“It was still some kind of structure, access roads, technology in the form of lights, cameras and sensors and all of that system really got steamrolling at the end of Obama’s term and then really took off when President Trump came in because he had campaigned on building a wall and securing the border.

“The wall system, and I think this is very important, it was more than just a wall. It was the lights, the cameras, the technology and the access roads and the strong policies about consequences.

“Unfortunately, President Biden campaigned on the rhetoric and the vitriol and the divisiveness that a secure border has happened in American politics.

“So in his first few hours and first days as president, he halted so many of the things that that President Trump had implemented, which were requirements by the US Border Patrol, by the US Border Patrol agents.

“These weren’t political requirements by elected officials or bureaucrats. This is what people that the men and women that I led had told me that we need in our area and this is what we packaged up and that’s what President Trump put in place.

“Unfortunately President Biden stopped everything and and rolled a lot of policies back that led to some of the challenges and and really the crisis that we have today.”

The Biden administration has faced an unprecedented spike in migrant crossings during his tenure, with record numbers making their way across the US-Mexico border.

When asked by Rees-Mogg about the severity of the issue ahead of the US election, Clem claimed it is “one of the biggest keys and takeaways” when addressing the current situation in the US.

He added: “We have a border security problem and we need to secure our border, but also we have an immigration issue that we need to address.

“And unfortunately, the two often get conflated. And that causes the political quagmire that we’re in and why we have trouble getting some of the results I think we need.”
