‘Congress opposed CAA due to vote-bank politics,’ says Amit Shah in Hyderabad | India News – MASHAHER

NEW DELHI: Union home minister Amit Shah on Tuesday said that the Congress party opposed the Citizenship Amendment Act due to appeasement and vote-bank politics.
Addressing the social media warriors in Telangana’s Secunderabad, Amit said, “Due to appeasement and vote bank politics, Congress party opposed CAA. Lakhs of people came to this country to save their religion.Narendra Modi has done the work of honoring them by giving them citizenship.”
He also said that the BJP delivered what they promised like Triple Talaq, 33% reservation for women, and abrogation of Article 370.
“We had promised that we would repeal Article 370… The promise was delivered on 5th August 2019, within a few months of forming the government! We had promised that we would abolish Triple Talaq. Congress never bothered to take care of Muslim women, who are a minority within a minority… Modi ji’s promise stands delivered. Our promise of providing 33% reservation to women in the legislatures has also been delivered.” the minister said.
“We promised to bring the Citizenship Amendment Act to give citizenship to the persecuted religious minorities from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. This was the vision of the framers of the Indian Constitution. Despite that, Congress kept rebelling against it,” he added.
This remarks came after the rules for the implementation of the CAA were notified on Monday, paving the way for granting citizenship to undocumented non-Muslim migrants from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan who came to India before December 31, 2014.
Exuding confidence on BJP for the upcoming general election, Amit Shah said, “In this election, the BJP will win more than 12 seats, with 12 seats being a part of the BJP’s target of 400. The Congress and BRS are facing significant corruption allegations, but not PM Modi.”
According to the minister, the NDA government spent Rs 10 lakh in Telangana over the last decade. He instructed the volunteers to spread this information about the NDA government.
Slamming Congress MP Rahul Gandhi for taking 45 days leave, Amit said that the PM has never taken leave, and no one can point out any corruption allegations against him.
