Three men were arrested for allegedly gang-raping a 19-year-old woman in Kolkata’s Tiljala area, the police said on Tuesday.
According to the woman, the incident took place on March 10 when the accused men, who were her friends, took her out on the pretext of having tea together.
They then took her inside a stationary vehicle and gang-raped her, she said in her complaint.
Acting on her complaint, the police lodged an FIR and arrested two of the accused men. They were produced before the Alipur court and were sent to police custody till March 22.
The third accused was caught later on Tuesday.
During the probe, the police conducted a medical examination of the woman. Traces of alcohol were found in the woman’s blood, according to her medical report, sources said.
The police are investigating whether she was in a drunken state when she was gang-raped.
