A major motorway in Kent briefly closed with two-mile queues of traffic, as witnesses reported seeing a man walking down the M20.
Emergency services were called to carriageway near Maidstone and motorists were advised to seek alternative routes where possible while the disruption was ongoing.
One driver told Sky News they saw “large man was walking down the middle of the fast lane in a white vest covered in blood”.
A spokesperson for Kent Police said they were called “following concern for a man” seen between junctions 7 and 8 around 11.45am.
Police say the man was located with injuries which are “not believed to be life-threatening”. He has been passed into the care of healthcare professionals, they added.
