Punjab BJP chief Sunil Jakhar questions ‘absence’ of AAP’s Raghav Chadha ahead of elections – MASHAHER

Hitting out at the Aam Aadmi Party, Punjab BJP president Sunil Jakhar on Monday questioned the “absence” of AAP Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

In a post on X, the BJP leader said, “In this politically surcharged atmosphere lots of reasons are being attributed to the intriguing absence of Sh Raghav Chadhha at this juncture. The silence of Sh Kejriwal and Sh Bhagwant Mann on this has only lent credence to such insinuations.”

He further said, “Now a news report suggests that Sh Chadha has gone to London for his eye treatment . If that’s the case, I wish him a quick recovery and good health.”

Raghav Chadha will soon fly to the United Kingdom to undergo eye surgery, sources told India Today TV.

He will undergo vitrectomy surgery to prevent the eye’s retinal detachment. This condition is caused by the formation of small holes in the retina, poses a significant threat to eyesight and requires immediate medical attention to prevent irreversible damage.

In a statement released later, Jakhar claimed that “infighting” within the AAP will force the party to change its candidates on eight seats.

“You will see a change of candidates on most of these seats as the faces announced have been rejected by their party cadre,” he said.

The state BJP chief further claimed that there was a “secret tie-up” between the AAP and the Congress in Punjab and said that both parties should declare their formal alliance and stop assuming that Punjabis are ignorant of their “surreptitious deal” to loot the state.

While the AAP is sharing seats with the Congress in Delhi, Gujarat and Haryana, it has decided to independently contest all the 13 seats in Punjab and two seats in Assam.

Responding to Jakhar, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, said in a post on X, “Jakhar sahib, be concerned about the party you are in these days. Moreover, tell journalists which party I (Jakhar) am speaking for.”
