Dozens of people injured after two buses, car collide in Sydney – MASHAHER

A dozen injured people have been taken to hospital following a collision between two buses and multiple cars in Sydney’s south-west on Wednesday afternoon.

Paramedics assessed 25 people who were hurt after close to 20 ambulances were called to Seventh Avenue at Campsie following reports of a crash on the residential street about 4.20pm.

Twelve people, including one child, were taken to hospitals including Bankstown, Canterbury and Concord.

A woman in her 60s, who was believed to be a bus driver, suffered internal injuries and was taken to St George Hospital in a critical condition.

A woman in her 50s was in a serious condition with spinal injuries. She was transferred to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Camperdown.

NSW Ambulance inspector Andrew Bibby said paramedics were met with “chaos” at the crash site.

“There were a lot of people running around, a lot of injured people and a lot of panic, even from the local residents who must have heard what had gone on.”

Video footage of the crash site showed a bus with a shattered windscreen. Nine News reported the bus had crashed into several parked cars on the street before colliding with another bus.

Motorists and members of the public have been urged to avoid the area as the operation to clear up the smash is likely to be lengthy.
