SS Rajamouli met anime creators Rui Kuroki-san and Kazuto Nakazawa-san in Japan. The filmmaker is in the country for a special screening of ‘RRR’. Sharing a photo from their meet, Rajamouli mentioned that he has always been “curious” about the process of making Japanese anime.
SS Rajamouli wrote a note while dropping a photo from his meeting with Japanese anime creators, Rui Kuroki-san and Kazuto Nakazawa. He wrote on X, “I was always curious about the process and making of fantastic Japanese anime. Thank you Rui Kuroki-san and Kazuto Nakazawa-san, for the wonderful time. Thoroughly enjoyed our creative discussions. Looking forward (sic).”
Rajamouli’s concluding words left fans excited for a possible collaboration.
On March 18, SS Rajamouli was in Japan for a special screening of ‘RRR’. After the advance booking for the show opened, the tickets were sold out in less than a minute.
The official X (formerly Twitter) of ‘RRR’ mentioned that the film has been running in theatres in Japan for the past one and a half years.
Their post read, “It’s been close to 1.5 years since the theatrical release in Japan. Since then, it’s still running in theaters, and the show on March 18th sold out in less than a minute. Absolute RRRAMPAGE… #RRRinJapan #RRRMovie (sic).”

The ‘RRR’ team promoted the film in October 2022 in Japan. SS Rajamouli, Jr NTR and Ram Charan, along with their partners were in the country for the promotions. However, certain restrictions were imposed at the time due to the pandemic.
‘RRR’, starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan, is a period-action drama about India’s fight against the Britishers for freedom. SS Rajamouli also hinted at a possible sequel to the film. His father and screenwriter, Vijayendra Prasad, mentioned that the script work was underway.
‘Naatu Naatu’ from ‘RRR’ won the Oscar for Best Original Song in 2023. The film also won many awards at international award shows, including the Golden Globes.
