UFC events at Brookvale Oval? It’s a bold plan, but it could become a reality.

The Daily Telegraph is reporting UFC officials are set to sit down with Sea Eagles powerbrokers to negotiate a potential revamp for the suburban home of the Manly club.

The potential merger could see Brookvale reportedly turned into a state of the start stadium that can seat 25,000 to 30,000 with a roof.

The ground would then be used to hose NRL, rugby and soccer games as well as UFC fight cards.

The UFC have previously undertaken similar ventures in Mexico and China, having set up locations as a training base for fighters.

UFC’s Vice President, Australia & New Zealand Peter Kloczko has reportedly already spoken to Scott Penn and chief executive Tony Mestrov.

“We are building a solid partnership with the NRL in terms of all the things we did in Vegas,” Kloczko said to News Corp.

“This could be one of them. The UFC has a mandate at the moment to look at opportunities for establishing and developing UFC performance institutes around the world.

“Currently there are three – one in Vegas, one in China and one in Mexico City.

“I think it is important for us to develop as a business here and we have a local physical presence and that could be having a UFC performance institute here in Australia.”

Kloczko also revealed the UFC could “bring blockbuster fights to Sydney” in a stadium that has a roof, bringing “more certainty” regarding weather conditions.

The Sea Eagles trained at the UFC’s facilities ahead of the Las Vegas season-opening games.

Manly bosses are also reportedly tired of waiting for funding from the NSW Government to upgrade their spiritual home and are exploring options.
