A massive fire erupted at a godown in Delhi’s Alipur area on Monday, with no immediate reports of any casualties or injuries. A total of 34 fire tenders were rushed to the spot to help douse the major blaze.

The fire department received a call regarding the blaze at around 6.15 am today, after which the 34 fire tenders were rushed to the godown.

The fire initially erupted in an oil godown and went on to engulf nearby godowns as well.

Efforts are currently underway to douse the flames.

A video of the incident shows thick, black smoke billowing out of the godown, with firefighters and fire engines at the scene.

Meanwhile, a local resident told the ANI news agency that the fire erupted at around 5 am and said that a short circuit might have started the blaze.

He also said that there was no information on casualties and injuries, adding that it was a fridge godown, while there were godowns of clothes and vegetables nearby.
