The 5th generation iPad Air, which is the latest model in the Air series, has received a big discount on Flipkart. The next-generation was recently rumoured to arrive in March or April and earlier today, Bloomberg reported that the launch has been delayed to May because Apple is still making software-related changes. There is no official on this of now. But, whenever that happens, the price is likely to drop by a certain margin after the new model arrives. The good thing is that Flipkart is already offering the 5th generation iPad Air at a cheaper price. Here are the details.
The 5th generation iPad Air is currently listed on Flipkart with a starting price of Rs 49,999. Apple’s official store, on the other hand, is selling the same tablet at Rs 59,900. So, this iPad is available with a flat discount offer of Rs 9,901 on the mentioned e-commerce website. The mentioned price is for the Wi-Fi only model with Apple’s M1 chip and 10.9-inch screen.
There are also a bunch of bank offers on the device, which will bring down the price by a certain margin. One of them includes 10 percent off on HSBC Bank credit card and Rs 1,250 off on ICICI Bank debit card EMI transactions.
To recall, the 5th generation iPad Air was announced back in 2022. Hence, the new version is due and is tipped to arrive in May this year. The 6th generation is speculated to arrive with a faster M2 chip and feature a bigger 12.9-inch screen compared to its predecessor. But, nothing is officially confirmed.
The 2022 iPad Air model, which is currently the latest model in the Air lineup, comes with a 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display with 3.8 million pixels, 500 nits of brightness, a P3 wide colour gamut, True Tone, and an anti-reflective screen coating. A Touch ID-based fingerprint sensor is built-in into the power button for additional security. The device has support for eSIM, stereo speakers, and Wi-Fi 6 too.
Apple has also included a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera on the front for a better video call experience. The device also gets support for Apple’s Centre Stage feature as well. This basically helps detect the subject during a video call and puts it on the front. So, when others join in, the camera detects them too, and smoothly zooms out to include them in the conversation. There is a 12-megapixel wide-angle camera on the back of iPad Air that allows users to capture 4K videos as well.
