NSW Governor Margaret Beazley to serve two more years – MASHAHER

NSW Governor Margaret Beazley has had her term extended for two years following a recommendation to the King.

It extends her term until May 2026, Premier Chris Minns confirmed on Saturday.

King Charles approved the premier’s recommendation Ms Beazley remain in the role and the governor has agreed to the extension, he said.

“She has a deep commitment and dedication to the office she holds and the people of NSW who she serves,” Mr Minns said.

The former judge was appointed the state’s 39th governor by the Gladys Berejiklian-led coalition government in 2019.

The extension ends before the next state election is due in early 2027.
