A man from Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow was arrested on Sunday for allegedly strangling his 25-year-old wife and two children, aged six and three. Ram Lakhan, a resident of Lucknow’s Sarwan Nagar area, stuffed the dead bodies of his wife and children in a sack and kept them in the house for two days.
During police interrogation, Lakhan said that keeping their dead bodies at home gave him solace as his family was sleeping next to him.
Ram Lakhan allegedly killed his family members on March 28 after he suspected his wife had an extramarital affair.
Lakhan strangled his wife using a scarf and then killed his two children while they were sleeping.
The incident came to light when his neighbours alerted the police about a foul stench coming from his house. Police broke down the locked door and found three bodies in a sack inside the house.
Later, Ram Lakhan was arrested in Sohramau after police traced his location using his phone number.
