Ayushmann Khurrana, who is known for unconventional cinema like Dream Girl 2 in which he played a cross-dresser, has always shared about his passion for acting and cinema. Recently, he came across a tribute dedicated to one of the oldest and legendary filmmakers of the country, Satyajit Ray, best known for iconic and cult social dramas from the 50s and 60s. The filmmaker was being hailed by the TIME MAGAZINE for his works.

Ayushmann Khurrana, who is a huge follower of Satyajit Ray’s works and he says, “Satyajit Ray has inspired us all. You can keep discovering and rediscovering the layers every time you watch his cinema. He has shown how inspiring cinema can be as a medium and how it can trigger a thought, be a social commentary. Truly a master storyteller who has made India proud globally <3”. Ayushmann, through his socially relevant, superhit, progressive cinema is reckoned as the ‘poster boy of content cinema in India’. Satyajit Ray and his works are celebrated globally and recently TIME Magazine hailed the master filmmaker’s Pather Panchali in their list – 100 Best Movies of the last 100 years which includes The Apu Trilogy, The Music Room, The Big City, and Charulatha.
On the work front, Ayushmann Khurrana is expected to be currently taking cricket lessons as a part of his prep of his upcoming next. The actor is said to play the lead role in the biopic about former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly.
