Melbourne-based river cruise company APT builds its own ships – MASHAHER

Importantly, the design of the APT Solara and APT Ostara also prioritise sustainability, with in-built measures aimed at saving fuel, energy optimisation, and waste reduction.

APT chief executive David Cox describes the ships as a “momentous milestone in APT’s near 100-year history” and those who love food as much as river cruising might agree.

The ships feature six all-inclusive dining options including a main restaurant, wine cellar, conservatory, casual dining option, an aft restaurant, rooftop dining, plus in-suite service.

Like the already launched 88-passenger Mekong Serenity sailing Vietnam and Cambodia and the soon-to-launch in Portugal, the 114-passenger MS Estrela, the sun deck features a heated pool.

The mighty Murray.

The company has also announced a new $6.75 million, paddle steamer that will journey the Murray River from June 2025. It’s Australia’s first five-star river cruise experience and the world’s only wood-fired five-star paddle steamer. In partnership with Murray River Paddlesteamers, three new itineraries are on sale now.

Early bird offers are available on the Europe 2025 bookings until April 30, 2024. See aptouring.com.au/europe
