Rescuers still searching for mother and daughter swept away by water surge – MASHAHER



PETALING JAYA: Search and rescue operations to locate the still missing Indonesian mother and daughter that had fallen into a monsoon drain in Kota Perdana have resumed.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Wan Md Razali Wan Ismail, when contacted Monday (April 1), said that teams have been dispatched to the scene.

“Team one and team two will perform searches within a 3km radius of the area where the victims were believed to have been swept away,” he said.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (Operations) Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar added that two tracker dogs, named Lady and Cross, have also been deployed to the scene.

Serdang OCPD Asst Comm AA Anbalagan had previously said that a family of five had been fishing in a monsoon drain near a stream in Jalan KP 4/9 Kota Perdana on Sunday (March 31).

The 40-year-old father and nine-year-old son survived while a 10-year-old child was found dead. The 38-year-old mother and four-year-old daughter are still currently missing.
