In a recent interview with News18 Showsha, filmmaker Boney Kapoor shed light on the complex relationship between his son Arjun Kapoor and Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. While Boney acknowledges a strained dynamic between Arjun and Salman currently, he revealed that it hasn’t affected his own bond with Salman.
“Salman Khan gave Arjun Kapoor his best,” says Boney Kapoor; speaks on their “Strained” bond
Discussing Arjun’s acting career, Boney recalled, “I may have separated from Mona (Kapoor, his first wife) but it was never in my mind that Arjun wants to become an actor. It was Salman who called me up and said that, ‘Boney sir, he will become an actor. He has it in him.’ He took it upon himself to see that he becomes an actor.” Boney expresses gratitude towards Salman for his role in Arjun’s career launch.
Boney, who is currently awaiting the release of Maidaan, further added, “He made him lose weight. I would give credit to Salman where Arjun is concerned. Whatever said and done, today their equation might not be that good but he gave his best (with regard to) Arjun. His growth was influenced by Salman.”
What happened between Salman Khan and Arjun Kapoor?
The reasons behind the alleged fallout between Arjun and Salman haven’t been publicly confirmed. Some reports suggest it could be linked to Arjun’s past relationship with Salman’s sister, Arpita Khan. Arpita is now married to actor Aayush Sharma. Another factor could be Arjun’s current relationship with Malaika Arora, who was previously married to Salman’s brother, Arbaaz Khan.
