McEntee pushes lead past 50
Jed McEntee has joined the goal kicking list with a set shot after a lovely centring pass from Rioli.
This last term is a little flat right now, hopefully Essendon can give it a little spark.
Power 91, Dons 41 with 16 mins to go.
Edge not an Essendon thing
By Peter Ryan
The Edge is a guitarist for U2. It is not a description of the way Essendon play.
The game meandered through the third quarter with Port Adelaide’s Jason Horne-Francis and Zak Butters joining the party.
Essendon’s pressure has disappeared after quarter-time with the game shaping as a reality check.
Three quarter time stats
3QT: Port Adelaide 13.7 (85) to Essendon 6.5 (41)
The Power remain in control but the Bombers did show something late in the term as sub Nick Hind entered the game and they forced the ball forward more times.
But the Power are unbackable favourites from here and Rozee is, hands down, the best player on ground.
Jones gives Dons a boost
Harrison Jones has marked on the boundary line and slotted through a kick from the right boundary for a goal.
Quality finish from the young Bomber.
Power 85, Dons 40 with a minute to go in Q3.
Hind enters for Dons
Nick Hind has come into the game with Jye Menzie subbed out for tactical reasons.
Gresham kicks his third
The Bombers finally found a way into attack and, thankfully, they found Gresham who kicked his third goal.
He has been excellent in limited opportunities tonight.
But from the centre bounce, the Power went forward and Finlayson kicked another goal.
Power 83, Dons 34 with seven mins to go in Q3.
Power putting the squeeze on Dons
The Power have control of this match but the scoring has slowed in this third term.
But with the Power still well in control of possession and tempo, it feels like more goals are just around the corner.
As soon as I typed this, Rioli found the footy close to goal and snapped another major.
Power 77, Dons 28 with eight mins to go in Q3.
Soldo is on the board
Power ruckman Ivan Soldo has kicked a goal from close range although he did offer a little fake out before kicking after being challenged by a Dons defender.
The former Tiger is playing a solid roll for the Power and his mullet is still exceptional.
Power 70, Dons 28 with 14 mins to go in Q3.
Boak subbed out with back injury
Apologies for the mix-up, I had thought Boak had an ankle injury but it was a back injury that flared up.
The Power have activated their sub and sent Jase Burgoyne, son of Peter Burgoyne, into the game.
He has plenty of speed and talent.
