Indore: A college girl and her male friend were shot dead by a youth inside a temple, after which the killer turned the gun on himself in Indore on Thursday afternoon. The trio had offered puja together just before the shooting.
Police identified the shooter as 26-year-old Abhishek Yadav, and the victims as Sneha Jat (22) and Deepak Jat (25). All three were students and Sneha and Deepak were distant relatives, sources said.
“Prime facie, this tragic incident looks like the fallout of a triangular love affair.A probe is on to ascertain what led to the killings,” additional commissioner Amit Singhsaid.
Sneha’s father dropped her off at her college, where she met Deepak. Police believe Sneha received a callfrom Abhishek, who asked her to meethim at a temple. She went there with Deepak on a scooter. Suddenly, Abhishek pulled out a pistol. Panic-stricken, Deepak and Sneha desperately tried to get away from Abhishek, but he shot them both in the head.
Abhishek ran towards the parking lot and shot himself in the head, say police.
