SEA EAGLES 32, PANTHERS 18
DALY CHERRY-EVANS STEALS THE SHOW: It was a milestone game for the Manly skipper, and after a slow start, he stole the show. By time the full-time whistle blew in Brookvale, he had 16 points to his name, after he took over kicking duties and orchestrated the team’s shocking win.
PANTHERS LOSE THEIR WAY: After a try in just the fifth minute of the game it looked like the Panthers were about to put Manly to the sword. But once the Sea Eagles found their way, Penrith were lost. The reigning premiers were sticky in attack and sloppy in defence. And when Manly went through the middle once, they did it again and again.
RELENTLESS DYLAN EDWARDS: The most positive thing to come out of the Panthers camp tonight is how relentless their fullback is. Even when the team were on the back foot, he was driving them out of their end. His length of the try field got Penrith back in the game to start the second half, and he single-handedly tried to mount a comeback with a second one in the 69th minute.
