Hardik Pandya: ‘I’ll be bowling at…’: Hardik Pandya reveals reason for not bowling against Delhi Capitals | Cricket News – MASHAHER

NEW DELHI: Mumbai Indians’ skipper Hardik Pandya addressed concerns over his fitness, asserting his readiness to bowl while reflecting on his team’s comprehensive victory in their maiden win of the Indian Premier League 2024 season.
Pandya, leading MI to a commanding 29-run triumph over Delhi Capitals at Wankhede stadium, clarified his absence from bowling during the match, assuring fans of his well-being.

“I am fine. I’ll be bowling at the right time, we had everything covered today so did not have to roll my arms over,” remarked Pandya during the post-match presentation, dispelling any speculation regarding his fitness.

MI’s victory was anchored on a formidable powerplay performance and Romario Shepherd‘s explosive knock in the final over.

Pandya lauded the opening pair of Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan for their stellar contribution, which laid the foundation with a blistering 79-run partnership in the powerplay. He also commended Shepherd for his match-winning cameo, where he plundered 32 runs off Anrich Nortje in the decisive over.

“It was an amazing start today, always wonderful to get 70 odd in 6 overs. The way everyone chipped in when the opportunity was coming was good to see. That was some hitting na (On Romario’s heroics). He won us the game. Difference was Romario v Delhi Capitals. I like him. Always has a smile on his face, doesn’t run away,” Pandya expressed, acknowledging Shepherd’s crucial contribution to the team’s success.

Following three consecutive defeats in the ongoing season, Pandya shed light on the team’s mindset and strategic adjustments that culminated in their breakthrough victory.
“It was a lot of hard work. We had to clear our minds and make sure that we believed. We will be making tactical changes here and there but this will be our 12 and settling our team now is important. There’s a lot of love and care going around in the change room. Belief and backing each other is the attitude out there. Everyone believed we need just one win,” Pandya elaborated, underscoring the team’s resilience and unity amidst challenging circumstances.
