Bollywood actor Kriti Sanon shed light on the importance of genuine support within the film fraternity. Celebrating the success of her recent release Crew, Sanon expressed her views on the prevalent culture of superficial compliments and the evolving dynamics in the industry. Sanon emphasized the significance of authentic encouragement among peers, suggesting that mere compliments might not suffice. She pondered openly whether individuals in the industry genuinely rejoice in each other’s success. Despite her reservations, Sanon remains hopeful, noting a gradual shift towards a more supportive environment.

In a conversation with Zoom TV, Kriti said, “We will be somewhere else if we start uniting and start supporting each other. Genuinely supporting and genuinely feeling good… Not doing it for the heck of it, just being there, clapping and applauding for each other. It’s just going to be much nicer, happier and a much more successful place.”
She added, “I don’t see that unity so much here. I don’t know how many people are genuinely happy when a film does well but I think that’s changing a little bit. At least, I am hoping.”
The actress said that actors thrive on validation and people’s words, especially industry peers’ support is valuable. The actress also talked about the narrative about the film’s failure often blamed on women. “I have come across really hurtful comments. A film, succeeding or not, is not one just person. It’s a whole team,” Kriti Sanon, adding, “I choose to ignore all of this and let my work speak because nothing else really matters.”
“People quickly blame it on the girl sometimes, in many cases, not just films, even matches sometimes,” she said, adding, “Trolls are trolls, you can’t pay so much attention to them.”
Meanwhile, Kriti Sanon will next star in Do Patti alongside Kajol. She is co-producing the Netflix project with Kanika Dhillon.
