A 2015 Volvo passenger car was traveling east on I-40 when the driver attempted to take an exit. The vehicle was traveling too fast and lost control, ran off the left side of the road and hit a tree, according to troopers.
Six teens were in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Two were killed, two were transported to a local hospital in critical condition, and the driver and an additional passenger were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. Troopers say charges haven’t been filed at this time.
