Banijay Promotes Kate Humphreys to Chief Communications Officer – MASHAHER

Kate Humphreys has been promoted to chief communications officer at Banijay, Stéphane Courbit‘s TV production and distribution powerhouse behind “Survivor” and “Peaky Blinders.”

Humphreys, who joined the company in 2018, will be in charge of setting and executing the group’s global communications strategy and managing a team across internal and external communication and events. Under her new role, Humphreys will also continue serving as an adviser for the group, and partner to the executive team and country CEOs. She will still be based in London and will report to chief strategy officer Marie Schweitzer.

Since joining the company six years ago, Humphreys played an important role at crucial times for the group. She notably spearheaded the re-branding of Banijay following its $2.2 billion takeover of Endemol Shine in 2020. It marked the indie world’s first major M&A deal to close during the pandemic. She also supports holding FL Entertainment on various financial communications, including annual results.

Banijay entered a year ago the stock exchange in Amsterdam through a newly-created special purpose acquisition company (SPAC).

Over the years, Humphreys has also been in charge of crisis management across both trades and consumer media and has helped organize events and internal initiatives to promote transparency and inclusivity within Banijay.

Headed by CEO Marco Bassetti, Banijay just posted revenues of €3.3 billion, a growth of 6%, and an adjusted EBITDA of €494 million. The Paris-headquartered company is owned by FL Entertainment, which also posted profits on Thursday showing revenues of €4.5 billion ($5.8 billion) two years afters making its debut on the Amsterdam stock market.
