A major federal scheme will underwrite enough renewable energy projects in Western Australia to power every household in the State twice over.
Under an imminent first-in-nation deal with WA, the Commonwealth will put a guaranteed floor price in place for 2.3 GW of variable renewable power like wind and solar, and 1.1 GW of dispatchable power and storage such as batteries or hydro.
