Enzo, a police dog with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, displayed bravery and resilience while on duty. Responding to a call about a suicidal individual, Enzo and his fellow officers found themselves in a tense situation. Despite efforts to negotiate peacefully, the individual started a fire and posed a threat. Enzo, along with his handler, sprang into action, but tragically, the dog sustained multiple stab wounds in the line of duty.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police shared updates on Enzo’s progress, expressing gratitude for the overwhelming support from the community. Enzo is a three-year-old Belgian Malinois who has been working with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for about a year.

Quick action by the officers led to the apprehension of the assailant, and Enzo was swiftly transported to a veterinary hospital for urgent care. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of the veterinary team, Enzo’s condition stabilised, and he was transferred to a trauma hospital for further treatment. After several days of intensive care, the resilient Belgian Malinois was declared fit to return home.
In a heartwarming video, Enzo was seen reunited with his handler, symbolising his triumphant return. Although he will need time to fully recover, Enzo’s courage and determination serve as a testament to the invaluable contributions of police dogs in law enforcement.
