An ambulance took the 20-year-old away to hospital, where he remains for monitoring and observation.

Te Hau has played a handful of games for the Bunnies’ NSW Cup side and is a Queensland under-18 rep. He has yet to make his NRL debut.

Journalist Brent Read said on Triple M that Souths are “hopeful” the fullback will be alright.

“They (Souths) are hopeful he’ll be alright. He’s undergoing testing now in hospital and optimistic he should get a positive response to that.”
