Parineeti Chopra, who is currently basking in the good responses she has been receiving for her role as Amarjot in Diljit Dosanjh starrer Amar Singh Chamkila, recently opened up about her film journey to Bollywood Hungama. In this interaction, the actress traced her successes and failures in the industry and how many of them reacted to it. Speaking about her recent string of flops, Parineeti maintained that her PR game was never on point and that she was never the ‘right place at the right time’ kind of person.

During her interview, Parineeti Chopra asserted that she knew what went right and wrong in her career and added, “See, I am the same actor, the same face the same talent, same everything. Plus I have a very big problem. That is that my PR game sucks. Okay, I’m very bad at pr I’m very bad at being in the right places at the right lunches and dinners where these work opportunities are created. Projects are created at these events. And I’m not at those events.”
She went on to speak about filmmakers like Dibakar Banerjee who believe in talent and art of cinema and choose artists based on their merit instead of their market value. “I think through directors and producers and artists, if they recognize talent, and if they recognize hard work, then they should come to me and they should give me an opportunity. That’s all I want. For example, filmmakers like Dibaker Banerjee. I want to say a big thank you to directors like them. They are not seen every day, everywhere, because they focus on their craft, and they work hard. And they recognize that in me, they looked at my talent, they didn’t look at my market value and think that her last four films were a flop, so, I can’t take her in my film. A lot of people think like that. But these filmmakers looked at me, and said, ‘We think you are a fantastic actress, and you will do justice to our role’. And I got that job. I want it to be beyond what your present like social standing might be true,” Chopra added.
In the same interaction, Parineeti also asserted that she wants to be a spokesperson for such artists who only believe in their talent. “I want to be the spokesperson for that group of actors, talented actors who is sitting at home, who might not who might be socially awkward, who might not have relationships with people who might not have friendships might not be in the right circles and cliques and camps. But we should all get an equal opportunity. I want that,” she shared.
