SRH are set to face DC at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Saturday, 20 April. SRH are coming off their best-ever batting performance in the Indian Premier League where they slammed RCB with the highest-ever team total of 287 runs. DC vs SRH will be the first match of the season played at the Delhi Stadium and the away side’s fielding coach Ryan Cook feels that it is unlikely for SRH that they will cross the 287-run total again in the tournament.
SRH batters Travis Head and Heinrich Klaasen handed an epic mauling to the RCB bowlers at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on 15 April. The team broke their own record of the highest total in the IPL (277 vs MI), set a couple of weeks before the clash. Cook, however, believes that 287 is as high as any team would go.
“I’m not sure if those scores can be achieved again. Obviously, it is a good wicket here. The batters are in a very aggressive frame of mind but each conditions on their own, the guys will be assessing, putting partnerships together and figure out what a good score is. Hopefully some good runs here,” the SRH fielding coach said in the pre-match press conference in Delhi.

‘KEY APPOINTMENTS LED TO SHIFT IN MENTALITY’
SRH have won three in a row now, with their last 2 wins coming in away games against PBKS and RCB. Cook said that it would be nice to get the third win away before they begin the home leg once again.
“We have a couple of wins on a roll. If we get a few wins away from home, then it would be great. We are chasing down whatever we are getting. We need to make sure we have our plans and strategies set and take chances once we start,” Rayan Cook said.

Asked about the changes made by SRH this season which has given them dramatic results, Cook said that there has been a key shift in the leadership positions which has changed the brand of cricket that the team plays.
“I think there have been some few key appointments in the leadership group. New coaches and a new captain and a couple of new personnel. Everyone has really gelled well and everyone is enjoying the style of play,” Cook concluded.
SRH are currently at the 4th spot in the points table with 4 wins and 2 losses.
