Multiple people, including children, were seriously injured after a vehicle crashed through a Michigan building where a child’s birthday party was being held, authorities said.
The incident occurred around 3 p.m. ET in Berlin Township, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
The vehicle drove through a building at the Swan Boat Club where a child’s birthday party was taking place, according to the sheriff’s office. A “number” of people, including children and adults, were seriously injured, the sheriff’s office said.

The victims were transported to multiple local hospitals.

The Swan Boat Club said it is closed until further notice.
“Please keep everyone involved in your thoughts and prayers,” the facility said in a statement on social media. “We thank everyone for their concern and prayers.”
The Swan Boat Club is located on Lake Erie, about 30 miles south of Detroit.
