Some West Australians are not only priced out of the rental market, but they can not even afford a single bedroom in a sharehouse, according to the 2024 Anglicare WA Rental Affordability Snapshot.
The drastic state of the rental market was exposed in Tuesday’s report, which showed that not even rooms in sharehouses — costing between $150 and $400 per week — were affordable for someone on Jobseeker or Youth Allowance.
