While fans of Yash cannot wait to see him on the big screen, the anticipation for his next titled Toxic is at an all-time high. But apart from that, another project which has taken prominence is Ramayana, which the Kannada superstar will be co-producing and acting in. Although he hasn’t given any confirmation about his role, reports have it that he will essay the role of Ravana. Now, Yash has decided to open up about this epic saga which he will co-producing along with Namit Malhotra, as he strives to retell the greatest Indian epic with a fresh perspective.
Yash opens up about the reason behind producing Ramayana; says, “The Ramayana, as a subject, deeply resonates with me”
During an interview with Variety magazine, Yash spoke about joining forces to co-produce Ramayana, He said, “It has been my long-term aspiration to make films that will showcase Indian cinema on a global level. In pursuit of that, I was in LA to ally with one of the best VFX studios, and to my amazement, the driving force behind it was a fellow Indian. Namit and I had various ideation sessions, and coincidentally, our synergy on the vision for Indian cinema aligned perfectly.”
He continued, “We brainstormed various projects, and during these discussions, the subject of Ramayana came up. Namit had a part of it in the works. The Ramayana, as a subject, deeply resonates with me and I had an approach in my mind for it. By joining forces to co-produce Ramayana we are bringing together our collective vision and experience to create an Indian film that will ignite excitement and passion in audiences across the world.”
Ramayana is said to be ambitious project which will utilize creative exploration, bold vision, and honest storytelling to captivate audiences worldwide. The film is reportedly directed by Nitesh Tiwari and is expected to feature Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles of Lord Ram and Goddess Sita. Other names which are associated with the film include Sunny Deol, Rakul Preet Singh, Lara Dutta, among others.
