Baroness Jacqueline Foster has claimed that we need a “zero tolerance policy” on knife crime in the UK and said that she feels “community service does not work.”
Speaking on GB News she said: “I think we’ve been too soft on all of this. I think it’s the wrong direction to say Well, of course, it’s a lot of working-class kids or whatever.
“It can’t be an excuse. This has become endemic and it has been over the last 30 years. We saw teachers being murdered in London.”
This comes after anew task force tackling knife crime among young people has made 25 arrests and seized 20 weapons since being set up.
