Director Sekhar Kammula has been quietly filming Kubera, which starts two of the industry’s biggest talents. Little is known about the film’s production status. However, a video from the film’s sets is revealed that it is currently being shot in Mumbai with Rashmika Mandanna and Dhanush.

In the footage, Dhanush and Rashmika are seen strolling with their guards to the Kubera sets. Dhanush was seen sporting a semi-casual suit, while Rashmika wore a plain green churidar. Dhanush seemed in stark contrast to his destitute appearance in the film’s first look poster. It is unclear what the story of Kubera is about, but given the title (the name of Hindu deity of wealth) and Dhanush’s appearance, it is assumed to be about a wealthy man and his downfall.
Previously, the film was shot in Tirupathi, and Dhanush appeared as a beggar during a fight scene. The film crew also encountered difficulties while shooting in the highlands, delaying the project even further.

Aside from Dhanush and Rashmika, Kubera also stars Telugu actor Nagarjuna, who was last seen in Naa Saami Ranga. The Telugu actor is purportedly playing a cop in the flick.
Kubera will be released in Kannada, Hindi, and Malayalam, in addition to Tamil and Telugu.
Apart from Kubera, Dhanush is now working on his dream film, Raayan. He is directing and portraying the title character in a gangster drama set in North Madras. The actor is also working on another directorial project, Nilavukku Enmel Ennadi Kobam, a young adult romantic comedy. In addition, Dhanush will play music maestro Ilaiyaraaja in a biography directed by Arun Matheshwaran. The project is currently in the early stages.
