IPL 2024: Rishabh Pant apologizes to cameraman who was hit by his shot during DC vs GT – MASHAHER

DC captain Rishabh Pant issued a heart-warming apology to a camera person who was hit by one of the star batter’s shot. DC etched a nervy 4-run victory against GT at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi on April 24, Wednesday. Pant was adjudged as the Player of the Match for his incredible knock of 88 runs from 43 balls.

In a video released by the official social media handle of the IPL, Pant was spotted along with the head coach of DC, Ricky Ponting after the match. Pant, in a kind gesture, apologised to the camera operator and wished for his better recovery.
“Sorry Debashish bhai, did not intend to hit you, but I think you can recover well and good luck,” Pant said in the video. DC vs GT, IPL 2024 Highlights | Scorecard

“One of the camerapersons from our BCCI Production Crew got hit during the DC vs GT match. Rishabh Pant – Delhi Capitals’ captain and Player of the Match – has a special message for the cameraperson,” the caption read.

The camera person must have become victim to the ferocious hitting by Pant, who returned to his vintage style to deliver a special knock. However, in an act of kindness, Pant sought an apology for his unintentional act. IPL 2024 Full Coverage | IPL 2024 Points Table and Standings | 2024 IPL Full Schedule

WHEN PANT RETURNED TO HIS VINTAGE BEST IN DELHI

GT had started the proceedings well as DC was reduced to 15 for 3 within the powerplay itself. However, Pant joined Axar Patel, who was promoted at the No. 3 position, and the duo launched a counter-attack on the GT bowlers. It was a typically audacious innings from Pant ever since his miraculous recovery from the car accident in December 2022.

He put up an entertaining show for the fans with his unorthodox stroke-making. He also whipped Mohit Sharma’s delivery for a helicopter-like shot which left the fans and experts in frenzy. In his whirlwind knock, Pant scored 62 runs from the last 18 balls he faced. He plundered Mohit for 31 runs in his last over, taking the total to 224. However, despite the efforts from David Miller and Sai Sudharasan, GT fell short by 4 runs from the target.
