Benchmark stock indices ended the day a little higher, after a rebound, mainly driven by a surge in financial sector stocks.
The S&P BSE Sensex gained 486.5 points, marking a 0.66% increase, closing at 74,339.44, while the NSE Nifty50 added 159.85 points, or 0.71%, ending the day at 22,562.25.
Notable gains were seen in companies like Axis Bank and Nestle India following their post-earnings performance.
Shares of Axis bank gained over 6% while Kotak Mahindra Bank stocks tanked after the central bank banned the private lender from adding clients digitally.
