The Bollywood Hungama Style Icons Summit and Awards 2024 was held yesterday, May 2. The second panel discussion was on ‘Style and Showbiz: Perfect Partners or Mutual Beneficiaries?’ and it was attended by Gauahar Khan, Mugdha Godse, Tejasswi Prakash, Shriya Pilgaonkar and Sumeet Vyas. Sumeet, during the discussion, made an important point about how the top stars usually keep it simple when it comes to styling and yet, it works big time.

Sumeet Vyas observed, “If you see the trend, the biggest superstars of our country and the style that they endorse, be it Rajinikanth or Bachchan saab (Amitabh Bachchan) or Dharam ji (Dharmendra), their style has been very simplistic and at some level, even a little flawed, if you see them from the lens of a fashion critic. They do not probably tick a lot of their boxes. But the fact that there is a sense of a flaw in their style is what people could relate to. And that is why it became so big. (The same goes for) Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman (1990) or many others who substantially made it big in their careers.”
Sumeet further remarked, “Even Salman Khan for that matter. I don’t think he cares about what is the trend these days. He does his own thing and people follow it. I am sure that he is intelligent enough to understand what regular people would like. He probably has better judgment on them than most people.”
