The deadline is fast approaching for you to vote for your favourite GB News stars in the 55th annual Television and Radio Industries Club (TRIC) Awards.
Camilla Tominey has been shortlisted for Interview of the Year for her heart-rending exclusive with broadcasting legend Alastair Stewart in which he revealed for the first time that he was suffering with dementia.
Meanwhile Nigel Farage and Eamonn Holmes are both nominated for News Presenter of the Year – the prestigious gong won by the former Brexit Party leader last year. GB News Breakfast has been nominated for Best News Programme.
All categories will be decided by a public vote and you have until Friday 17 May 2024 to cast your ballot.
Speaking to GB News, Tominey said: “I was honoured to interview Alastair and his lovely wife Sal for what proved to be an incredibly moving conversation about dementia and the profound impact it has had, not just on this broadcasting legend but the entire Stewart family.
“I am so grateful that this important interview, raising awareness of a disease that affects one in three people in Britain, has been nominated for a TRIC Award.
“I know we are up against stiff competition – but I hope voters can find it in their hearts to recognise Al’s courage and bravery in making his diagnosis so public in the hope of helping the million people in the UK currently suffering with dementia.”
To vote for Camilla and her brilliant GB News colleagues head to the TRIC Awards website now.
The TRIC awards is taking place at Grosvenor House on Park Lane in London on Tuesday, June 25th.
They are expected to attract an audience of more than 1,000 guests from across the TV and media industry, with the ceremony also available to the general public to stream live.
TRIC Chair, Roy Dickens said: “I am delighted to be leading TRIC into its 55th year of the Awards, I have personally been involved with TRIC for the last 40 years – I have seen the incredible journey TRIC has ventured on throughout this time, and I am really proud of everything TRIC and the committee has achieved over the years along with the support of our sponsors.
“Every year we bring together the TV, radio and online industries to celebrate the best of British entertainment – the proceedings on the day will be hosted by our TRIC President, Roman Kemp who will be announcing the winners of the 2024 public vote.”
This year the TRIC Awards will also be supporting two new charities: Starlight, a national children’s charity that exists to champion the importance of play and defend every seriously ill child’s right to it and Joe’s Buddy Line, which provides emotional and mental health support within primary schools.
Previous TRIC Award winners include Eamonn Holmes, Piers Morgan, Susana Reid and Kate Garraway.
