Tamil Nadu man dies by suicide amid alleged blackmail by online loan app – MASHAHER

A man from Tamil Nadu’s Pudupettai landed in trouble after borrowing money from an online loan app called ‘Quick Cash’ app. Gopinath who worked in a private company, reportedly died by suicide after alleged blackmail by an online loan app.

Though he had been paying the interest and principal amount, Gopi had been a target of blackmail as the employees of Quick Cash app threatened him, stating that he needed to pay more money or else his morphed indecent images would be sent to those in his contact.

Gopinath, who was depressed over the issue, was found hanging in a room on Thursday morning.

“Miss you Amma Appa, bye. I’m leaving. Senthil Anna will take care of you. Please inform the office that I’m leaving due to cash problem. Quick Cash App has sent my pics to everyone. So I’m leaving”, read a message he had sent to his parents.

Gopinath’s father, Mani, said that his son had asked him for help 10 days ago, and he had given him Rs 30,000.

“Last week he told me that he was even trying to send the money. The transaction failed, but he was being blackmailed be sending indecent pics to those working in his company. He felt so ashamed. He took leave yesterday and I told him that we’ll go to Police Commissioner office in the morning and file a complaint. But was found him hanging in the morning”, said Mani.

The police retrieved Gopinath’s body, initiated an investigation, and sent it for autopsy.
