Geelong will aim to return to winning ways when it hosts a banged-up Port Adelaide at GMHBA Stadium on Friday night.

The Cats (7-1, 129.5%) suffered their first loss of the season last Saturday in narrow fashion against the Demons, and will hope an injection of freshly-managed senior players at selection will spur a bounce-back triumph.

Meanwhile, the Power (5-3, 113.1%) are licking their wounds from last Thursday’s Showdown loss to the Crows, with none more sore than skipper Connor Rozee’s reaggravated hamstring injury.

Pies hit with another injury concern | 01:16

Ken Hinkley was forced into four changes on Thursday night, excluding Rozee, Lachie Jones (injured), Jase Burgoyne (injured) and Jordon Sweet (illness), as well as dropping Dylan Williams.

They have, however, welcomed back crucial defender Aliir Aliir from concussion, along with Josh Sinn, Dante Visentini, Francis Evans and Jeremy Finlayson.

As for Chris Scott’s Cats, midfielder Tanner Bruhn (injured) isn’t available, nor are Zach Tuohy and Jack Bowes (both managed).

Recalled, though, are Mark O’Connor, Brandan Parfitt and Oisin Mullin after O’Connor and Parfitt were managed last weekend.

Geelong has won three of its past five matches against Port Adelaide, with the clubs having met just twice at GMHBA Stadium since 2017. The Cats won both those meetings by an average margin of 24 points.

The match gets underway at 7:10pm AEST from GMHBA Stadium.

Watch it live on Fox Footy (channel 504), streaming on Kayo or via Hubbl, from 6:30pm AEST.
