Women’s FA Cup final: Manchester United beat Tottenham 4-0 | UK News – MASHAHER

Manchester United have won the Women’s FA Cup final for the first time after beating Tottenham 4-0 at Wembley Stadium.

The goals came from Ella Toone, Rachel Williams, and Lucia Garcia who scored a brace.

United head coach Marc Skinner’s side had the better of the chances throughout the match.

But they only broke the deadlock in first-half stoppage time when midfielder Toone unleashed a powerful strike from outside the area into the top corner.

Spurs, playing in their first Women’s FA Cup final, capitulated after the break and conceded twice in quick succession.

A header from Williams made it 2-0 after 54 minutes, before Garcia pounced on a poor pass from goalkeeper Becky Spencer to take the scoreline to 3-0 in the 57th minute.

Garcia added her second goal via a deflection in the 74th minute as United made amends for losing in last year’s final to Chelsea by clinching their first major trophy since reforming in 2018.

Spurs captain Bethany England came closest for Tottenham with a crossbar-clipping header before Garcia bagged her brace.

It is the first time since Birmingham City’s victory in 2012 that the cup has not been won by Arsenal, Chelsea or Manchester City.
