Across decades as obstetrician extraordinaire, he never wavered from this stance expressed in a letter to the WA Goldfields Magazine in 1995. Bringing babies safely into the world was one thing; spreading messages of universal kindness and consideration for others, giving babies a decent chance in life, was another.
